What is The VNS snow day policy?

We follow the Farmington Public School recommendations for snow delays and cancellations.

  • If FPS cancels school for the day, VNS will have no school that day.

  • If FPS has an early dismissal, VNS will close at 11:30 a.m.

  • If FPS has a delay (60 mins, 90 mins, or 2-hours), VNS will open at 10:30 a.m. for all classes.

    • On delayed openings, dismissal times for the 4s and Pre-K classes remain the same.
  • Important Note:  On delayed openings, the dismissal time for the 3s class will be pushed back to 12:30 p.m.

What is The VNS school dismissal procedure?

For the school year 2023-2024, school ends promptly at 11:30 a.m., 1:15 p.m., and 1:00 p.m., and it is extremely important all children are picked up at these precise times. Alternate arrangements with a family member, another VNS parent, or friend must be made if you believe you will not be on time for your child's dismissal. â€‹

Important announcements:

  • New students must complete The State of Connecticut Early Childhood Health Assessment Record before your child can begin classes.

  • The VNS Permission Agreement and Permission Forms (for Walking Field Trips, Directory, and Photographs) must be signed and returned to his or her teacher by August 1.

  • Both the VNS Information Sheet and Emergency Information Sheet must be signed and returned to his or her teacher by August 1.

  • The VNS 2023-2024 School Year Calendar is available for download below.
